In the United Kingdom and Ireland we have twenty four communities of prayer and hospitality. Five of the community houses are situated in Ireland, three in Scotland, two in Wales and fourteen in England.

Much of the pastoral work is carried out in areas where it is hoped that the sisters can provide the most help to the poorest people.

In parishes where we have a presence, our sisters are fully involved in all aspects of parish life. This might involve

  • Catechetics - which includes things like preparing children for First Holy Communion or young adults for Confirmation
  • Visiting - which might include the housebound, people in hospital or just a little time spent in people’s homes for a chat and a cup of tea.
  • Prayer groups
  • Community empowerment
  • Youth Groups, Women’s Groups
  • Prison visiting
  • Formal parish duties - office, sacristy, etc

to name but a few!!
